N&W on Memorial Day
As the hours of Memorial Day fade away, concluding our time celebrating what our veterans have sacrificed so that our country can remain free, Norfolk Southern's Norfolk and Western heritage unit #8103 leads CN train M338 through Hillside, IL, with an eventual destination of Gary, IN.
This unit was painted in 2012 to honor the N&W, which merged with the Southern Railway in 1982 to form today's modern Norfolk Southern. It's taken me a long time to get a good shot of this unit, but happy to finally get it off the list :) .
