MEC Maine Central BW-2 GP-7 #579 Tower A, Waterville 01-12-84
The demise of the Maine Central had started by the time I took this image in January of 1984 and little did I know that I would be leaving Maine in about 4 months for twenty years. Westbounds were still running via the Lower Road as BW-2 hauls down it. Once the rear has cleared the OS circuit of the Westbound Main the crew will shove the pulpwood onto the Westbound where WI-2 was usually built, recently repainted GP38 #251 is sitting on the Yankee and the track to the left is the Back Road.
