Songzanlin Monastery

Songzanlin Monastery, also known as Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan, China. Built in 1679 under the guidance of the Fifth Dalai Lama, it is often referred to as the "Little Potala Palace" due to its stunning Tibetan architecture. Nestled in the mountains near Shangri-La, the monastery is home to around 700 monks and houses precious Buddhist relics, intricate murals, and gilded statues. The surrounding landscape, including Lamuyangcuo Lake, adds to its serene and spiritual ambiance.
