Welcome to #LisaDurden’s #WomensHistoryMonthMoment: Lucille Désirée Ball Morton, born August 6, 1911, was the star and producer of her hit 1951 sitcom, ‘I Love Lucy;’ one of the most beloved programs in television history!! In 1962, #LucilleBall, became the first woman to run a major television studio; #DesiluProductions, which produced many such popular television series as ‘Mission:Impossible’ and ‘Star Trek.’ She won four #PrimetimeEmmyAwards, was the recipient of the #GoldenGlobeCecilBDeMilleAward in 1979, was inducted into the #TelevisionHallOfFame in 1984, won the lifetime achievement award from the #KennedyCenterHonors in 1986, and the #GovernorsAward from the #AcademyOfTelevisionArtsAndSciences in 1989. Little known fact, growing up, Lucy and her family lived in Trenton, New Jersey for a time. This woman was #CLUCKING knee slapping funny!! #ClapForThat!! She passed away on April 26, 1989.
