P&W Train CT-1 at Portland, CT
On a brisk January afternoon, B39-8's #3903 and #3907 pull several loads of contaminated soil from Red Tech Industries in Portland, CT. Red Tech is the Providence and Worcester's only customer on the Portland Side of the Connecticut River, and is accessed by swing bridge which connects the towns of Middletown and Portland. The Bridge was originally built by the New Haven Railroad to carry it's famed 'Airline Route' across New England's largest river.
