Settle & Carlisle Railway

This favourite railway line for many railway enthusiasts and others was saved from closure thanks to a successful campaign which resulted in repairs to Ribblehead Viaduct, the condition of which had been BR's excuse for trying to close the line.
I have travelled this route more times than I can remember and also followed the line by car.
