I am geographer, graduate at the University of the Andes (Merida, Venezuela), with special interest in biogeography, environmental conservation and culture. I'm author of numerous scientific and popular publications. Likewise, I am member of several organisations, including the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Mountain Forum.

For over 20 years I have carried out a series of projects focused on natural history and conservation of several threatened species, including spectacled bear, torrent duck and lowland tapir. My interest in wildlife conservation has led me to work with renowned organisations such as, National Geographic Society, BBC, NHK from Japan and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), among others.

I have a special interest in wildlife art and photography. My artworks (illustrations and photographs) have been shown in several public exhibits and publications, including the Red Data Book of the Venezuelan Fauna and the Book: Los Rostros de la Extinción (Extinction's Faces). All my photos are available for multiple purposes, especially for publishing. If you are interested in getting copies and licences, don't hesitate in to contact me (e-mail: visiontorres@gmail.com). I look forward to hearing from you soon.
