Making any subject look interesting through the art of photography. This is what my friend Shamrockah does everyday. Every photo is captured, framed, and treated meticulously. Sham uses all of the tools available to make each pixel scene interesting to the viewer. His pictures are some of the first I look for in my contacts each day, always wondering what he will come-up with next. He is fun to joke around with as he has an excellent sense of humor, too. If you browse through his photostream you will find almost any subject in the form of a photograph and I guarantee you will be intrigued.

I have been a resident of the Delaware Valley for most of my life and I have never seen familiar landscapes and landmarks reinvented so brilliantly as in the photography of Shamrockah. He is an authentic artist with an acute sense of place and enough vision and courage to explore the essence of his surroundings in a way the avoids cliches and eschews traditional categories. He is profoundly haunted by his sense of place. His art often trancends the materiality of his surroundings and draws upon deep liminal tides that say something revelatory about the psychology of place. I belive it is just a matter of time before his work becomes broadly recognized and becomes as much a part of our regional consciousness as that of Weymouth and the Wyeths.

I think this testimonial has been a long time coming from me to Sham. Not only is Sham a great photographer, but he is a kind and thoughtful person as well. I think to be a really good photographer you have to want to bring your own unique vision to other people through your camera lens, and Sham does just that. You can tell the minute you lay eyes on his photographs, that he has put a lot of thought into capturing that specific scene before he even trips the shutter. I am blessed to have Sham as one of my friends and it is my desire to one day meet him face to face, and then go shooting. LOL.. I am serious about this! I could really learn a lot from his abilities as a cityscape photographer. His eye for architecture and city scenes is outstanding.
