I'm Robert Berkowitz, a photographer who's been living, working and playing on Long Island, New York, since time began, and photographing for almost the same time span. I created RSB Image Works as an outlet for my work. (Well, my later work, anyway. You really don't need to see my Kodak Instamatic pictures from when I was 10.) In my photography, I love discovering the everyday over-looked beauty all around us, preferring this to preconceived beauty in some far away exotic locale. Not that an exotic locale is shabby, by any means, but there's so much going on right in front of everyone's nose, it too often gets missed out upon, and that's a shame.

I appreciate and enjoy photographing a wide variety of subject matter, especially scenic/nature shots, but I think I've been pretty decent on capturing the beauty and wide-eyed innocence of children. I love children's eyes. It's the #1 thing I focus in on (no pun intended) in children photography. I still have an on-going hope to one day do a photography book on children, and I've had the title picked out from the start..."The Eyes Have It."

Along with photography, music is an equal love of mine. I've also been part of the Long Island, NY, music scene for quite some time, and I consider myself very, very lucky to be able to hear and document this incredible local talent. (To anyone reading this on Long Island, Google any of the names and/or acts appearing in my Music Photo Sets and research them and find out where they're playing and go see them! And buy their CDs, too! Long Island seems to have an over abundance of undiscovered and/or under-discovered really fine musical talent. I also plan to support them by including web-links to their online contacts.)

To all performers...

If you know that I have taken many pictures of you in the past, but only see a few here, please be patient. I have literally many thousands upon thousands of images that need to be gone through, and it's going to take quite some time to sift through them all, and get the ones I'm going to use scanned in (if analog) and Photoshoped (to get them to be the best they can be) and uploaded. In a lot of instances, I uploaded only one or two shots per person to get the folder established, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's all I have on that person! Hopefully I'll be up-to-date within my lifetime. :-)

My photography here on Flickr is quite eclectic, running the wide gamut and timeline of all my work...from my photography I get paid for, to images I've done for myself (which just pleases me)...putting a lot out there, which hopefully pleases others.

(Note: For optimum quality in viewing my photography [or anyone's photography] online, please make sure your monitor has its brightness level set on medium. I've seen so many people's home computer monitors set on the highest brightness level, which might not make too much of a difference in text, but washes out all colors and ruins the proper brightness/contrast/saturation levels on images. Also, most images gain quality in viewing when seen upon a black background, which can easily be done in Flickr by just simply clicking on an image, which will make the background black...clicking again will change it back to normal. Also, if you hover your mouse pointer over each opened picture, you will see a note stating camera & lens used for the shot.)
