I (Phil Melling) have been taking photos in Western Australia since 1977, (hence the amount of photos from W.A. ). We have been able to venture to other states and various albums show those travels often with my family or epic trips like late September/ early October 2016 with one of my son's Josh where we went from Goulburn in Southern N.S.W. through to Bowen in Queensland (1100kms north of Brisbane). The rail scene is forever changing but so are the communities touched by the railway and not only have railways closed but whole town sites have disappeared.

I hope my photos are of interest and that they give a bit of a snap shot into the history of the railways in Western Australia and around Australia.

I have inherited Joe Moir and Jim Bisdee photo collections, both my long time mates who have sadly passed away, this site is using a combination of Jim & Joe's photos, plus my own from 1977 through to the current day. Regards Phil.
