I am a physician who gradually found his way into public health, health economics, and public policy. I like to read and write, and I often prefer to observe life from a slight distance—though in my work I tend to become deeply involved. That, however, is another story.
This photo stream began in 2007, after my father passed away. A few months later, God blessed me with a beautiful, angelic daughter. In that in-between space of loss and grace, photography became my way of holding on to life, memory, and meaning.
What you see here is a long-running personal visual archive—people, places, landscapes, and moments from across Pakistan and beyond. It moves between history and everyday life, public figures and ordinary scenes, architecture, travel, and nature—sometimes carefully observed, sometimes quietly incidental. Together, these images are less about spectacle and more about lived experience, preserved with affection, curiosity, and respect. Perhaps, before I die, I might dare to say—like Boris Pasternak—that I made the world weep at the beauty of my land. It is, admittedly, a tall order.

Pictorial history by Kazi sahib is a great service for posterity. Most of the photos from era lost to the mists of time, especially from Pakistan, remind of the peaceful and simpler times this country passed through. Ab tau kehat ur rijal hai.
