Michael E. Gordon is an award-winning fine art landscape photographer of unusual and overlooked natural landscapes of California and beyond. A lifelong student of nature and wilderness, Michael’s intimate relationship with the landscape yields photographs of great depth and clarity. He is best known for his black and white ‘Desert’ series which, says Broughton Quarterly, portrays “stunning ethereal beauty from terrain where others see only a bleak landscape.”

Michael photographs with a 4”x5” view camera and film, and leads photographic workshops and tours for photographers of all experience levels. He lives in an historic 98-year-old Craftsman bungalow in Long Beach, California, with his wife Shauna, and their menagerie of rescued animals (including Mojave the dog).

NOTE: My Flickr presence is where I will share all of my "other" photographs; those that may never be printed, exhibited, or properly appreciated. By and large, these are photographs from my workshops and personal adventures to find those transcendental moments in rare places. These landscapes are integral to my sanity, creativity, and soul.

Please enjoy! I'll be adding as many photos as time permits.
