I have always been interested in photography since I was young. I bought my first digital camera back in 2002 and it was a Finepix 2800, which packed a 2mpx CCD with 6x optical zoom. This camera at the time was fairly expensive and was considered one of the best mid-range consumer digital cameras out there.

Having bought my first dslr, the Canon 400D back in 2006 with 2 kit lens, it has opened out a whole new dimension in photography for me. I shoot everything from flowers to insects, animals to human portraits and continue to learn from some great photographers which I come across on Flickr.

For those who just started photography on Flickr, you have come to the right place! To improve your photographic skills, I believe you have to get out there and start shooting, studying theories may help you understand better but I am not a person who read manuals and books :) Saying that, I am an absolute amateur at best, so useful criticisms are most welcome!

Although my job now has nothing to do with photography, it does provide me with inspirations and much needed change of scenery. I believe photography is an art of looking at things and to tell others your feelings through your photos.

Thank you all for sharing your wonderful world of photography!

I'm honoured to have him comment on my photos from time to time too.

It was an amazing photo found in one of the thousands of Flickr groups that brought me to Kims photostream. As I went through his many photos I was struck by both the variety and quality of his work. His floral shots are simply beautiful, composed perfectly with wonderful depth of field and color. His night shots are also amazing, with great detail and perfect exposure. As mentioned his subject matter varies greatly but the quality and interestingness does not. I thank him for sharing his work and look forward to viewing more.
