I'm a professional photographer. I'm based in Lienz, Austria, Zürich and Ticino, Switzerland and in the Achterhoek in The Netherlands.

I'm a Dutch, but I'm living in Austria, often traveling through the Swiss, Italian and French Alps as well.

I grew up in an artist’s family, spending much of my childhood painting and drawing with my mom’s materials. At nine years old, I experienced the mountains for the first time during a holiday in the Swiss Canton of Ticino, and I fell in love immediately. Just a year later, I got my first camera and was captivated by capturing landscapes, searching for the perfect composition, colours and light.

Over time, photography - especially mountain photography - became my true passion. It even led me to move from the flat Netherlands to the mountainous region of Eastern Tyrol. Now, I frequently bivouac alone at around 3,000 meters altitude, sleeping under the stars to photograph breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, or staying awake to capture the Milky Way. I chase ideal weather conditions, venture onto (and into) glaciers to document their vanishing beauty, and explore both vast landscapes and abstract details within them.

Beyond mountain photography, I also specialize in pet photography and portrait photography. Recently, I’ve started to combine my love for landscapes with portraits by photographing newlyweds in the mountains, capturing their special moments in breathtaking alpine settings. In the winter months, I also take photos of sled dog races, and this year, I even had the incredible opportunity to photograph horse races on the frozen lake of St. Moritz during the famous White Turf.

Every trip is an adventure. I never know exactly what I’ll find: clouds, sun, rain, thunder, falling stones, animals, or even unexpected encounters with interesting people, despite often being alone. And every time, the question remains: Will I come home with the images I had envisioned? In mountain photography, you often don't get what you are looking for, but something completely different. Nevertheless, it might be precisely those surprises that continue to draw me to the mountains..
