Through photography, I have learned - and continue to learn - to see the world through new eyes. I moved to Fortuna, California, during the covid lockdown in May, 2020. Now, I have a whole new place to explore and see with new eyes. I love heading out on scenic road trips, but if it isn't reachable by road and a short walk, I won't see it. I love being retired and feel privileged that I am now free to enjoy so many varied things.

I co-host Compositionally Challenged. We have weekly and monthly challenges that aim to inspire creativity and improve our technical skills. CC is a small group where active members get to know and encourage each other. If that sounds appealing, won't you consider joining us?

It has been said that the only constant in life is Change. For me, that has meant a gradual change into becoming my mother's caregiver. We bought our house in Fortuna together and have done pretty well for ourselves through 5 years in our new home and surroundings. I'm not not as young as I used to be and I have learned the importance of maintaining and even building strength, especially in the legs, as one grows older. That effort has made pushing Mom's wheelchair on our walks easier than it was just two years ago. Exercise really is worth the effort and I plan to continue working to be as strong as I can be. Because sometimes life gets in the way of doing what we want, there are days I don't make it over the Flickr to view and comment on my FlickrFriends' photos, but I will catch up when I can. The hurryer I go the behinder I get - you know how it is - so pardon me for limiting how many I follow.
