I started shooting film SLRs when my best friends Abdulrahman (Flickr: xivoovix) gave me a Minolta x-700 and two lenses: a Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and a Minolta 35-80 zoom lens. I was disappointed at the first two films but then, I have produced amazing results. I have exposed hundereds of 35mm films before I bought my Canon EOS 30D with a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II (did not buy the kit lens because I wanted a fast standard zoom).

I don't believe that camera or lens matter, but I do believe they give you convenience. The only limit is your imagination. I prefer shooting street life, people, and portraits in the first place, and then shooting landscapes & macro.
