I'm a professional freelance photographer. All of my work, both published and unpublished has been photographed within a 30 mile radius of my home. I do a lot of searching for abstracts these days, looking for hidden works of art. Be well, Mike.

2017 Weather Channel Photo Contest Finalist for my "Ice Abstract" Only 41 images were picked out of 52,000 plus submissions. I also had the only abstract image to be chosen as a finalist! We received more than 52,000 submissions in our 2017 It's Amazing Out There Photo Contest. Both professional and amateur photographers alike entered their best weather, nature and adventure photos for a chance to win the $15,000 grand prize. We narrowed down the submissions to 41 finalists, and from there, a panel of star judges selected our three winners.

I was published in a National Geographic story titled "Macro" on November 24, 2014.. 16,000 entries were submitted to the assignment and only 17 images were selected for the story. I'm honored to have been chosen as one of them. The link to the story is right below this paragraph.

My "Stairwell" image was published in Popular Photography magazines new book titled, "How to Photograph Everything". It's an gorgeous, full-color book that demystifies the image-making techniques behind dazzling photographs of all kinds. The book’s goal is to provide readers with everything they need to know to capture the 40+ subjects that everyone wants in their portfolio—along with inspirational imagery and inspiring stories of how great photographers got their own shots. The book is being released by Weldon Publishing in November of 2014.
