I am large black nikon.

I shoot with an ir converted Nikon D40. It currently has no filter of any type over the ccd so I have to use a 720nm screw on filter to screen all that visible light. I might cannibalize this filter glass and install it directly over the ccd which would have 2 main advantages:

1: I can compose easily again, without a tripod and without having to remove and reapply the filter and / or guess at where I am shooting.

2: AF could be unbroken. Who knows about this one.

Of course, there are disadvantages as well:

1: limited versatility; IR only

2: I don't have a screw on filter that blocks IR and passes normal light or any UV capable lenses so #1 isn't very relevant at the moment.

If you are located in the Houston area and want to ruin your camera so it can do IR or UV, contact me.
