Great crested grebe parents, dabbling with their 'twins' ... magical (dappled!?).

Metabolism; metamorphism ..

NOAA, Woods Hole and NERC .. all yet again ..!

(Wildlife on the balcony (backdoor, yard, gdn. et al ..) - and local (very!) neighbourhood - let the wildlife come to you! - 'leave it be and you will see' ... etc. ..!)

 

The song of the nightingale ... all through the 'black' night, and the morning too; close-by, loud through the darkness, the wide-open window.

The careful, carrying call of the spring pheasant; the chiff, chiff chuffing of the chiff-chaff; and the call to mate and urgent alarm shout of the close-nesting oystercatcher - the occasional cries of the prey birds ... in 'our' trees, briefly ... portentous .. Soft mating songs of the great tits, changing behaviour, nest buried under the thatched eaves. And, slightly distant, the bleating calls of lambs and mothering sheep (some a beautiful brown-black - and darkly-furred rabbits, emboldened on the beach dune vegetation, too!). Placid evening hares loping and grazing amongst the growing green grass - rain, sun and the ever-present wind; wood pigeon and myriad small and medium-sized songbirds, feeding and calling; and the darting swallows, swifts, martins, catching the (rain, wind and sun) flies - high and low all, sweeping, swooping, soaring ... always out of reach, rarely just flying, more rarely still at rest.

Bumblebees, busy, buzzing everywhere ... maybe making up for lost time - so many seemingly different, unrecognised types.

Those clear, cold, deep/ly star-dazzled skies; watching moon ..

 

Grass - the myriad varied, amazing types ... far, far too much to absorb and fully comprehend.

Sea grass, dune grass ..

Native nettles; dear golden, time-telling dandelions; wild dancing cow parsley; shining, reflective, knowing buttercups .. and the 'shy', shrinking violet .. purple flowers! Plants, each taking their 'rightful' time and place.

 

The pond dwellers ..

Ants matter ..

Eclecticism, esotericism.

(Harmony, balance, in nature etc.- constant flux, upheaval, settlement ..)
