River Mrežnica, Duga Resa, Croatia

There were several Great Blue Heron nests nearby, on a small island in a small lake, in the Clear Creek Greenbelt, Wheatridge, Colorado. Those nests (and numerous Cormorant nests) have been there every year I have visited the area during the last six years.

I find it amazing that such small lakes/ponds can support so many large "fishing" birds. It's also amazing to me that many birds rest while standing on one leg.

Waiting for the train at Shibamata, on the outskirts of Tokyo (a very different place from the hustle and bustle of more central areas - and very pleasant).

For the really nerdy ones: the station is operated by the Keisei Electric Railway, this station being on the Keisei Kanamachi Line, a railway line with a total of 3(!) stations, Shibamata being the one in the middle, on a distance of in total 2,5 km. The station opened in 1912 and the Kanamachi line started operating in 1913.

On the afternoon of April 25, 2020, I was getting ready to take a picture of two Philadelphia Daisies in the side yard. They were posing nicely for me..., and before I could push the camera button, a butterfly flew in and landed, and said, "wait wait, I want to be in the picture too". I was glad to oblige...

Pié Jesu

Blessed Jesus

(Requiem Gabriel Fauré)

When evening fell, a wealthy man from Arimathaea, Joseph by name, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus, approached Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave orders that he should have it. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen sheet, and laid it in his own unused tomb, which he had cut out of the rock. He then rolled a large stone against the entrance, and went away....

Matthew 27: 57-60

My own interpretation: I liked the way a crescent shadow fell over ‘Blessed Jesus’, when I photographed this, as if to suggest some kind of eclipse of the ‘Son’ – but there is an expectant glimmer of light appearing from behind, at the ‘end of Jesu’....

I was amazed to see my image appear in Explore (somewhere here in April 15):
