Insane, but, in a nice way.

I am a true Gemini, so I'm fickle-as-hell but lovable! 4 years in Southern Mexico, in the 80's, has baked my brain but I can talk Spanish at a blistering speed and in an authentic, Acapulco beach-bum accent; which always gets me stunned looks as the blonde hair and blue eyes don't match what is coming out of my mouth!

I favour cooking authentic Mexican food but I usually don't stop there and I spend way too much time in my kitchen.

I collect many things (mostly vintage) as a hobby, that all deal with eating and 'the kitchen' as I spend countless hours cooking and baking.

My top collections are vintage Pyrex, vintage and Post-86 Fiesta dinnerware, vintage chalkware (just fruits and veggies), vintage kitchen utensils (primarily egg beaters) and cookbooks. I also collect Roseville pottery (but only have 4 pieces as I can never afford the ones I find!) and anything else that catches my fancy or is overly-kitchy and makes me laugh.

I've just recently got re-involved in Job's Daughters, after being away from it for almost 30 years. For those that don't know much about this girls organization; its kinda like Shriners, but for girls. A better description, I heard lately, is a blend between Girl Guides and a sorority. Its for girls between the ages of 10-20.

The thing that first drew me to it, when I was 12, was all the girls in evening gowns, velvet capes and tiaras. What little girl didn't want to dress up like a princess? I was hooked!

I am Past Honoured Queen of Bethel #1, Winnipeg. Manitoba and Past Miss Manitoba Job's Daughter 1982-84. (I had to take two terms as there were no girls old enough, to compete, in Manitoba for 1983-84.)

I am now the Director of Epochs at Bethel #36, Victoria, British Columbia and I am their newest Majority Member. (For those not in the know; it's kinda like graduation. I should have gotten it back in 1984 from my home Bethel...but that's another story!)

My second husband and my son from my first marriage put up with all the Jobie stuff and all my vintage collecting craziness....mostly, I think, because I keep them well fed!
