"Imagination is more important than knowledge" - Albert Einstein
You may have already noticed - am a night photographer, by choice and by necessity (busy in the office during daytime).
Bought Nikon D80 DSLR on 18 Dec 2007, (after weeks of review vs Nikon D40X) and had played with 18-55mm kits lens during my first 2 weeks. But on 31 Dec 2007 - hurayyy! i bought the superb - Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens! :)) Great lens, it is now stuck in my camera and probably will not detach it for a long long time. Night , imagoism (creative macros), indoor and event photographies are what i enjoy most. And yes, am a strobist also :)
Even though that some of my photos were featured in Philippine Airlines' May 2008 issue of Mabuhay magazine, which has brought me great joy, i still consider myself as a hobbyist ... "learning is a continuous process"
Am doing regular event photographies for Lighthouse (an organization of all the major construction consultants in HK and Macau).
Am a computer engineer by profession (but used to be a telecom engineer), working in Macau for the last 5 years and been bitten by a photo bug since late 2007 :)
Would appreciate any comment on my photos, especially constructive critism.
Happy to be here in Flickr and thank you for visiting my stream.
Cheers,
Ricky

what i like best about sir Rick's shots are the "hidden" or subtle messages he incorporates in his photos. it's like reading between the lines. sabi nga sa The Transformers, more than meets the eye.

When most of us have packed our gears and are heading home at the end of the day, that is when Ricky grabs his camera and tripod to explore the magic which night time brings. City skylines and city lights come alive at night through Ricky’s eyes, and through the extension of his eyes – his camera. He turns the city of Macau into a dreamlike panorama of colorful lights which seem to dance and jump at you. He leads you into magical scenes through his eyes and takes your hand as you explore the wonders of a city whose vibrant colors seem to be painted on a canvas which is sometimes black, sometimes blue, sometimes purplish, sometimes brown. Whatever the color of the canvas is, the whole scenery is never boring, almost always captured from an utterly unique perspective. I have been very fortunate to have discovered Ricky here in Flickr, not only as a photographer to be admired, but more importantly as a friend to be cherished for a lifetime.
