NEW “B1NR” - January 2026 *

DICTO’s practice treats geometry as a system of logic rather than representation. Working exclusively with recycled materials, he investigates how meaning and structure emerge from minimal conditions and fixed rules.

The name DICTO is an acronym derived from the five Platonic solids — Dodecahedron, Icosahedron, Cube, Tetrahedron, and Octahedron — a complete geometric set historically linked to ideal form and universal order. In this work, the Platonic solids operate not as images to be reproduced, but as a conceptual foundation: a closed grammar capable of infinite recombination.

B1NR is an open-source sculptural system governed by binary logic. It is constructed from only two elements: discarded PET bottle security rings and nylon zip ties. Within the system, rings function as zero (0) and ties as one (1) — absence and presence, loop and connection, passive and active. From this reduced vocabulary, complex spatial structures emerge through repetition, accumulation, and rule-based assembly.

By encoding digital logic into physical waste materials, B1NR collapses distinctions between computation and matter, abstraction and debris. The sculptures do not illustrate binary code; they embody it. Form is not predetermined but generated through process, revealing geometry as something enacted rather than imposed.

DICTO’s work proposes that even the most ideal systems must pass through material reality. Within B1NR, precision survives through constraint, and order persists not through purity, but through adaptation — suggesting that complexity, like meaning itself, begins with a simple yes or no./
