Married to a wonderful guy for more than 40 years, mom of two grown sons--older son single, younger married, 1 granddaughter! My mom and grandmother taught me how to sew when I was 5 years old.

Newest addiction: upcycled denim. Esty Shop: Harvest Home Studio

I've sewn all kinds of things over the years--clothing, home dec, some crafty things but I learned to quilt about 15 years ago (mostly rotary cut, machine pieced, machine quilted but a bit all by hand) and I am hooked! I no longer sew clothing (secondary addiction--thrift shopping so that's how I address filling my wardrobe). In 2009 I learned how to do free-motion quilting on my regular almost-vintage sewing machine by participating in the ORBC #1 quilt along. Wow...I love it (still working on getting better at it).

I like some traditional quilting and some modern. I'm learning to like more of the modern fabrics but haven't actually used many yet. Blue is my absolute favorite color and I prefer greyed tones (I'm a summer; if that helps to explain it) yet I enjoy brights as spot colors or in small projects. I'm drawn to heart shapes, flowers and love looking at batiks but have not learned to combine them successfully. I struggle with choosing fabrics for a project and often am not sure about it as it comes together but usually love it by the time it is done. There is nothing like the crinkle of a new quilt just washed and dried.
