Forest-PLUS Study Tour 2
Drag to set position!
Welcome to the Forest-PLUS Study Tour #2 Flickr page! This Study Tour hosted a delegation from the Indian Ministry of Forestry to come to the United States for a two week exchange from June 23rd to July 5th, 2014. The tour has two major portions: the first conducting meetings and presentations in Washington DC and the second doing field visits in central and western Oregon.
This Study Tour is being hosted as part of USAID’s Partnership for Land Use Science, or Forest-PLUS Program. Forest-PLUS is a 5-year project designed to strengthen India’s capacity to develop systems for forest carbon measurement and monitoring, conduct greenhouse gas inventories, and support the application of science and technology for improved and more cost-efficient management and monitoring systems. The project also helps to improve tools and capacity for land-use planning that reduces deforestation while also ensuring the rights and engagement of local and indigenous communities.
