Six Degrees of Separation

One would typically rest on arrival day or go for an easy destination for a start. But the Faroe islands are known for its erratic weather and one needs to adapt quickly to chase that light notwithstanding the jet lag. Luckily, the trek up to Lake Sørvágsvatn is relatively easy and not too demanding. The reward is well worth it -- you get epic views which are both beautiful and out of this world. It delivers an optical illusion of the lake hovering miraculously on a 140m sheer clifftop above the sea. The Trælanípa (Slave Cliff) got its name from the Viking Age when slaves were pushed off the edge.
