Nooit eerder had ik dit uitzicht op de Zuidpier van IJmuiden. Ik kwam hier vrij laat aan, toen de zon al behoorlijk laag aan de horizon stond. Hoewel ik meestal naar de pier loop om de zonsondergang vanaf daar te schieten, was daar nu geen tijd voor. En dus ben ik naar andere uitzichtpunten gaan zoeken. Deze plek werkte het beste. En ik moet zeggen, met deze voorgrond was helemaal niets mis.

I never had this view on the South Pier of IJmuiden before. I arrived here rather late, when the sun was already very low on the horizon. While I normally walk to the pier and shoot the sunset from there, there was no way I would get there in time. And so I looked for alternative viewpoints. This is the one I thought worked best. And I must say, there was absolutely nothing wrong with this foreground.
