White-breasted nuthatch--Sitta carolinensis

This one found a spider. Many insects do not perish in winter, but will hibernate until spring. This spider, however, will not live to see spring. Nuthatches, creepers, kinglets, and many other birds feed on these dormant insects throughout the winter months.
