Welder

Trying to find the words to describe my experience today. I kind of stumbled into this place when I saw lots of steel around. Drove in. Parked. Decided to start taking pictures first, ask questions later. I was so focused on the treasure trove of metal EVERY where...except that I knew pretty soon I was going to get tapped on the shoulder...and sure enough. Nice man came out from the building and the first thing he said was....Are you from the IRS? No, and not from OSHA, either, I promised him.

After a little arm twisting, he said I could take pictures, just don't get hurt....he has no fault insurance. So I walked around and took lots and lots of shots. When I saw this welder in the distance, I practically ran to ask if I could take his picture. Got the shot set up, then closed my eyes as I squeezed the shutter. Evidently, I find out tomorrow if I burned my eyeballs. You'll be the first to know.

Update: 4:02 A.M. Woke up coughing.... Drank water. Got back in bed. And then I see flashes of light. Have I coughed too hard? Then I remember. Uh oh. Did I damage my retinas watching the welder? I close my eyes. STILL see flashes. Husband is sleeping soundly. I say his name quietly. Then a little louder as the flashing increases. Wake up for a minute, I say. Ok, he agrees. Silence. No, wake up with your eyes open. Do you see flashes of light?

Answer: Yes, he does.LOTS of it. Must be a huge storm in the distance. So, so far so good.

Unless my husband went to a welding shop yesterday, too!
