Ancient Cliff Dwellings 2

The Mogollon people lived in these stone-walled structures, built within caves on the side of a cliff, during the late 1200's. In the winter, these dwellings feature passive solar heating from low-angled direct sunlight warming the exterior walls. In summer, they remain in the cool shade - Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, New Mexico
