Met him at Philipe's in

downtown L.A., on Mother's Day

2008, where we went to celebrate

in this L.A. institution where you

can get fantastic breakfasts,

amazing french dipped sandwiches

and an amazingly -

a 9 cent cup of coffee. And good

coffee!

And there he was

in the happy midst of it -

looking as if he'd come from

church and now was about to

enjoy some earlthly delights -

and happy as were most happy

people in this happy place-

he kindly consented and lit

up the room with his smile.
