Messier 3

My first attempt to capture a DSO. I actually used my planetary imager (Imaging Source DBK) as I don't have one dedicated to DSO's yet. Even so I think it came out alright considering the chip isn't very sensitive and gives a ton of noise even at 60 second subs.

 

Imaged trough a Celestron 8" SCT with a 0.63x focal reducer. 50 subs 65 seconds each, stacked and processed with MaxIm DL.

 

Messier 3 is a globular cluster orbiting our galaxy. It is made up of very tightly packed old stars.
