My Grandfather, Grandpa Dunn, was an officer in the US 5th Army artillery.
Grandpa was sent by sea he and many other soldiers to Australia in WWII.
From Australia the reinforcements went onto New Zealand and joined the fight with General Douglas A. MacArthur and began the Island hopping campaign fighting the Japanese Imperial Army.
Once the Philippine Islands were secured Grandpa was part of the occupying force in the P.I.
