Disa hircicornis

Disa is the genus with probably the biggest variety in colours and shapes, from small and delicate to large, outrageous and gaudy. I am not sure where on that scale to put Disa hircicornis. Both the size of the plant and the individual flowers could be said to lean towards the small and delicate side but then there is the colour! If colours made sounds Disa hircicornis would sound like a duet of bassoon and double bass over the stomach rumbles of a herd of elephants.
