Sorry I've been away, but an event happened that has forced my family to live in a rental house for a while whilst our home is being rebuilt. After a long fight with Comcast, we finally were able to get Internet, and so I can finally see all the lovely shots that were posted (bigger than on my iPhone) and also rejoin the ranks of the editors and posters. I thought it appropriate to have a fantastic fireworks shot up for Fireworks Friday.
This shot is from the beginning of Illuminations, which I'd probably shoot again with a shutter speed of less than 30 seconds. That speed is great for the middle and end of the show, but the fire at the beginning causes too many highlight blowouts, and there's also far too much going on, which makes for a murky and busy shot. Still, I love me a good explosion!
