Neon fireball

A very bright fireball from the Perseid meteor shower, along with the Otto Struve Telescope from the McDonald Observatory and the milky way.

I actually didn't see this fireball as it fell; I was looking the other way when it happened but it had a very bright flash that lit up the ground, so I turned around and I saw the still lingering train of the meteor.

For full disclosure, I need to say I've edited this image to show the telescope with the light on. It was like that about 10 minutes before the fireball fell, so I don't feel it alters the context too much.
