This picture is from my grandfather (George Hogg's album), I think it may well have been a day out from Chingford, I have no idea what the doll means.
With software I made out that the sign above the door refers to a Alfred J Pring, further from a pubhistory site I found that The Cock in Stocking Pelham had the aforementioned landlord.
Pub has since burnt down, I was getting ready to have a pint there.
