Laguna Verde

Laguna Verde next to the international road between Chile and Argentina.

 

The lake takes on a strikingly green tinge from the salt.The place is more than 4000 meters high.

 

Next to the mountaineering sites of Nevado Tres Cruces and Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano on earth.

 

A hot spring and a small house are on the shore with a mountain guard on duty keeping radio contact with mountaineering parties during the season. Looking east towards Argentina.
