One of my earliest...

Penn Central mail train #18 on the former Pennsylvania Panhandle line is about to cross the former Michigan Central at Hartsdale, Indiana.

Two E-units, two "flexi-van" cars and a caboose were the norm for this train that originated in Chicago and I believe went to Cincinnati? On this hazy summer of 1972 day I'm sure I rode down here on my Schwinn Sting Ray. Had to get the shot.

Today the Panhandle and Michigan Central are mostly abandoned here... the tower and diamonds are gone. The CN (former EJ&E) keeps things busy though. Christ! It's hard to believe it's been almost 42 years since I shot this. I need to log off Flickr, call AARP, social security, my financial planner, lawyer, and local funeral director....but maybe I should retire first?

Shot with a Kodak instamatic on Kodachrome-X. Bad drug store processing.
