Fremont Bridge, study 3

A co-worker of mine and I got into a very brief discussion the other night regarding what exactly defined a bridge. He brought up the deconstructionist argument that the on/off ramps of the Fremont bridge may in fact be considered bridges unto themselves. If such is the case, then the Fremont is a bridge made of bridges, a trait that really sets it apart from all other Portland bridges, the Marquam being its only rival in that category.

This was taken a couple of months ago. I had ran an errand down to a custom framing shop to sign some canvases before framing and had parked on this street, at which time this scene had caught my eye. A couple of days later I made a point to return with another borrowed Hasselblad. I really should get one of these cameras, but I just cannot justify the cost at the moment. If anyone out there is feeling patronly though... :-p

This really will be my last post of the Fremont from this series for a bit. I just printed St. Johns Bridge negatives shot during the snow storm we had, and I am fairly excited to get some of those scanned and posted.
