Qual è la storia delle Poste?
Tutto inizia con le Regie Poste nel 1862, istituzione in cui confluiscono le amministrazioni postali degli Stati preunitari. Tre i principi basilari: il concetto di servizio pubblico, l’inviolabilità delle lettere e la tariffa unica, realizzata con l’adozione del francobollo, in base al peso e non alla distanza. Nella nostra Penisola il francobollo venne introdotto nel 1850, mentre nel 1874 nasce in Italia la cartolina postale, seguita dalla cartolina illustrata e pochi anni dopo, nel 1881 è istituito il servizio dei pacchi postali. Oggi Poste Italiane smaltisce oltre 20 milioni di invii al giorno.

The history of using a mail service or courier service to pass messages from one person in one place to another person in another place has most likely been occurring since the invention of writing.
The first documented use of an organized courier service is in Egypt in 2400 B.C., where Pharaohs used couriers to send out decrees throughout the territory of the State. The earliest surviving piece of mail is also Egyptian, which dates back to 255 BC.
There is evidence of postal systems dating back to ancient Persia, China, India and Rome.
Today, the Universal Postal Union, established in 1874, includes 192 member countries and sets the rules for international mail exchanges.
