Good Morning!

Larger.

Coming downstairs about 8:30 this morning, I noticed the power was out. Thankfully, the house had not descended into frigidity just yet, though it was indeed cool! More wonderfully still, we had cold and hot running water. I can live without heat for a while. Water? Not so much.

Outside, we truly had a fresh winter wonderland. Overnight, another foot or so of snow had fallen, so much so that the footprints and cleared walks from the night before were erased, or very nearly so. It looked as if nothing had been done, and the snow continued to fall. (It eventually stopped about 1:30 or 2.) You can see our poor little Japanese Maple here; in back, the branches of our stately, giant oak tree, laced with the stuff, were nearly brushing the top of the snow.

Of course, the business of clearing the additional snow was gotten down to after the pets were fed (we ate pantry things, not wanting to open the refrigerator). Ben LOVED the snow, and even the kitties had an extra measure of 'crazy' all morning. Hubby started a nice fire in the fireplace, and we figured we would be stuck in the living room. We crossed our fingers, hoping the electricity—and heat!—would come back on soon.
