Frozen Sea
Look at this. It seems like a scene taking from an alien landscape: the dunes of Mars or maybe just the icebergs of the arctic or the antarctic poles - a desert of snow and never-ending whiteness.
But no, this is here. Right here. Israel, HaSharon, Dor-HaBonim beach nature reserve. Where sea meets the sand, and stony gravel rich with water manages to sustain an unparalleled richness of flora (plants and flowers) and fauna (animals such as snails, seashells, fish, crabs, insects, turtles, birds, and even some mammals).
While most sandy beaches are dead, this beach - even on a stormy day - is rich with life. This photo does not show this.
But it does capture mood, and maybe even a concept. So stormy, yet so serene, a blizzard frozen at time by one click of a camera. No processing, no Photoshop, just one click of a camera at the wave-breaking stormy sea, straight against the sun, on an Israeli winter Friday at the beach, were autumn, winter, spring and summer unite. One click, that's all it takes, to turn a fading moment into eternity.
