The Wreck
The Bunbeg shipwreck is located in the small village of Bunbeg on the west coast of Co Donegal 'Bád Eddie'(Eddie's Boat), a shipwreck which has been situated on Magherclogher beach since the early 70s where it had run ashore due to rough seas.
The Wreck
by my Mum.
Once she ploughed
The wild Atlantic waves.
Weather-beaten men
Hauling in the nets.
As her pristine hull
Braved the savage ocean
Year after year
Now her broken body
Lies embedded
On a Donegal strand.
Winter gales lash
As she clings
To the last
Remmants of life.
Masts hang broken
Crabs scuttle through
Decaying decks.
Gawping Tourists,
Cameras clicking
Record her Sad demise.
