Nakatsuna-ko lakeside in spring
Lake Nakatsuna-ko is one of the three sequential lakes in the north of Oomachi City. Several photos taken from the same place in different seasons have been uploaded to my photo stream.
Dark conifer trees are evergreen Sugi (Japanese cedar, Cryptomeria japonica) while those in light green are sprouting Karamatsu (Japanese larch, Larix kaempferi). They are endemic species and probably an afforestation. Wild cheery trees are in bloom here and there.
