Recent economic development in Vietnam is remarkable.
Vietnam used to be a "least developed" country when Doi Moi economic reform was introduced in the late 1980s. World Bank still categorises Vietnam into a lower-middle income economy, but Vietnam's GDP per capita on the PPP basis is already above $10,000 according to WB as the prices are cheap and/or Vietnamese Dong is under-evaluated.
