Farmers of Cretacia
In the fantasy realm of Cretacia, humans once were at the top of the food chain and thrived alongside the wild living, mostly huge creatures they called Din'Athoria. Soon the human domisticated these beasts, keeping the large herbivors as kettle whilst training the smaller, more agile and intelligent carnivors (called Raptas) as hunting aides and the bigger, less smart but so much stronger ones for plowing fields for the endless mass of plants they needed to feed the large herbivors.
It was like that for 200 years and never did the scribes anticipate that this should ever change, but through the continuing training the Raptas got more and more intelligent, at some point gained conscience and more specific language and one day (the day the old and wise Fellow-Raptas now call the day of the free claw) the Raptas overthrew the humans and enslaved them. The new ruling species still keeps large herbivors as kettle (whereas only for the meat) and big carnivors as laborers, but the once so dominant and eloquent humans are now field hands, construction slaves, servants and sometimes pets. Under the heavy claws of their enslavers, every attempt of human interaction is stricktly forbidden for gruesome punishment follows and at some point, humans lost their clever ways, their community and language completely.
So, no riding dinosaurs in Cretacia, forget about that, chum!
What can be seen here is the great Fellow-Rapta Sir Veelo of the Long Tail, wealthy land owner and fodder producer, inspecting the daily field work on his estates. The human slaves don't have names, they wouldn't understand the concept anymore. They are supervised by Fastjaw of the Sharp Talon, a more humble but nevertheless as vicious Rapta, Sir Veelos foreman in charge of the daily crop growing enterprise.
This is a figbarf for the Brickscalibur 2022 contests Farmstead Figures category. And... this is a wrap! I participated in all of the six categories and it was a blast, I had lots of fun!! Thank you everybody, especially the people running this fine contest. See you at the Forge!
(Yep, there are swords in there^^)
