April 10, 2012, Mountain View Fire Department responded to reports of an appartment building on fire along busy El Camino Real. Arriving firefighters discovered smoke and flame pouring from the building, and quickly went to work evacuating residents.
No-one was injured during the conflagration, which rendered 6 appartments unihabitable. Mountain View was assited in the two alarm fire by additional units from Palo Alto Fire, Moffett Fire and County fire, along with Rehab support from Fire Associates of Santa Clara Valley. Residents were assited by the American Red cross who were called to the scene to provide temporary housing and other assistance.
Mountain View Battalion 18 serves as the duty B/C for the area. The rig is a 2011 Chevy Silverado with custom command center built into the rear.
