M4 variants
The m4 is nothing new, it is not part of a new release, I did not win any of them. Then why do I love them so much? The first answer, is because they are a classic BA item, the other is that the weapon, like its real life counter part is very versatile. As you can see, I have modified some of mine, some not. Their flash hider allows for cut flex tubing to fit on the end, acting as a silencer, I used light gray with some added electric tape. The u-clip also provides many different connections to the weapon, to adapt your figures to the environment, (and as we all know, adaptation is the key to survival). I have beneath the text displayed, a stg lamp, a BA combat knife acting as a bayonet, a BA stun grenade acting as (?), and a BA m203 acting as an under barreled grenade launcher. I also have the BA monopod acting as a foregrip, an attachment most military personnel use.
Now, away from the purism and onto modifications. I have used the assault carbine stock, trimmed the back sight, added a electric tape magpul, as well as trimmed the barrel to give that particular carbine a compact and CQB feel. For my second modification I used some of the same techniques, as well as cut off the backlight off completely and added the AC8 scope to act as an acog.
This is one of my favorite BA items to date (protos included), and pick up about ten per order. I definitely recommend picking up a few of these if you are a modern builder. The only downside of this fine weapon system is the handgaurd, it widens as the it gets closer to the gun, while it acts as a certainly visually appealing aspect, it will bend u-clips that are attached. Though this is a downside, the plastic that Will uses, allows you to bend them back in to shape!
In conclusion, this item is almost perfectly accurate to the real life counterpart, is easy to modify, purist or not. I will definitely have to do a review as in depth as this when I can get my hands on a few of the new ARCs.
As always, thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it!
