萝卜丝 (Shredded Radish)

Lunch @ '老转村川菜馆', the Sichuan cuisine restaurant arm of the Hotel I was staying at.

 

These were simply just shredded raw radish. I was originally stumped at why would they serve this with the spicy octopus and spring onion salad but when eaten and enjoyed together, the radishes were able to tame the fieriness of the salad, the ying to the yang.
